Christmas Card for the Holler Gram app

Monday, December 12th, 2011

For Christmas the nice people over at Made by Many decided to make a seasonal update to their free app Holler Gram.

Designers and illustrators were invited to contribute to this app, and my Reindeer card made the cut alongside a nice selection of very talented illustrators and designers.

Holler Gram turns your iPad into a physical messaging platform – a glowing sign – that you can load with a message and it also allows you to tweet your message with a hashtag from right within the app. The season version has, in addition to the great cards from various designers, also the option of creating your own cards and backgrounds to your messages.

The Irrepressibles illustrations

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Earlier this week Andrew Lockwood from Amelias Magazine (A daily online magazine focusing on art, music, fashion and earth ) went and met with Jamie McDermot, frontman from the band The Irrepressibles to ask him about his life, his music and the extravagant performance art-style the band is known for.

A long time admirer of this band I was quite exited to do the illustrations to accompany Andrew’s interview with Jamie.

Piction Media crew

I recently made these character portraits for my friends up north from Piction Media.

They wanted some digital mini-me’s to represent them around the interwebs.

Piction Media do “Artistry and Prose for Brand development” combining Matt’s 17 years of experience  in digital illustration with Alison’s copywriting and content creation skills and her background as an independent non-fiction writer.

They also maintain a very nice blog called Planet Piction where they blog on topics such as art, design and branding and they also profile designers and illustrators they have worked with- ooh, for example here’s one about me: Adventures in Helmetgirl’s Vector Verden

This weeks Illustration Friday topic was; Adrift.

Polar bear cub and inuit child adrift on ice

My submission this week is representing the polar bears, and the people living in the arctic that will be among the first to feel the effects of global warming.

The melting of their natural habitat is a very pressing environmental concern.

You can read more about polar bears and global warming here:
